Sorry, now quite women's stuff hey, still grinds my gears.emaaghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07888750140782351386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7837308773221082870.post-35545515284269127332008-07-27T10:23:00.000-04:002008-07-27T10:23:00.000-04:00Ha - it's official: Those ginormous fake (and real...Ha - it's official: Those ginormous fake (and real) Chanel HERE'S-MY-LOGO-IN-YOUR-FACE bags are on the short list!

And Robert's right. If you have that kind of money, why not get something equally gorgeous and tastefully understated, like Mulberry's "Milton" large hobo bag? Your commentary on the mini pleats batwing dress sent me into stitches.

In addition to the trends you reported on, I'd include banded-bottom dresses to this list. I just graduated from High School, and unfortunately, I was graced by the presence of a lot of poorly fitted terrycloth banded dresses (which were accompanied by orange tans as well). While not all of these dresses are terrible, by and large, most look cheap and tawdry. On top of this, they make your legs look fat! I swear, just because something has a juicy couture logo doesn't mean it's tasteful...

Another look that I'd like to see banished would be those 'Chanel' bags on the arms of prepubescent girls. It's so overt and irritating. It's like they're trying to convey that they can buy style or class.Likewise, the bags are almost always fake, and if they're real, these girls throw TEXT BOOKS AND FOOD in them. It kills me. In my public high school, a girl with a real one threw a 10 pound art history book in her bag, which ripped some of the lining. I witnessed this, and thought I would cry.

Anyways, you have a really great blog! I live in the D.C. area, so I think it's fantastic to see someone so passionate about vintage clothing. You've totally won a place on my bookmarks toolbar. Keep up the great posts!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7837308773221082870.post-85329306267152622662008-07-26T10:20:00.000-04:002008-07-26T10:20:00.000-04:00disagree with me if you'd like... but i'm tired of...disagree with me if you'd like... but i'm tired of every third woman in the dc metro area having the leather patchwork chanel bag with contrast colored logo... enough is enough... and the large chanel logo nauseates me... i hate logos.. esp the large ones... its like, 'okay, i get it... u can afford a chanel bag. but are they paying u for all that free advertisement?'

i'd like to see those bags be retired... or at least large logo-ed bags be retired... women of dc... if u have the money for a chanel... go for a tori burch... or a kate spade... or a nice prada... but not something with in your face logos...

and crocs were out the day they were sketched as a design...

and for the teens... anything with a skull should be banished... tht is a long dead trend... punk is cool if and ONLY if u are actually punk...

i'd like to see us all go back to dressing up... tht old english romanticism... thats what i wanna see... I never found SATC fashion to be, well, fashionable. The early 2k years were horrible,clothing-wise! Can we pleaseeeeeeeee get back to a little decorum?
